A newer television in the same size

This Monterey project replaced an older 55″ Sony BRAVIA OLED with a newer model of the same size. The installation kept a 55″ screen in the room while updating the television itself.

We also mounted a Sony soundbar directly to the TV. The result brings the picture and audio together in one wall-mounted arrangement, with the speaker positioned beneath the screen.

TV replacement and audio considered together

The scope combined two services that are often requested separately: removing and replacing a television, and adding a TV-mounted soundbar. Planning them together allows the space below the screen and the speaker attachment to be considered as part of the finished setup.

Planning a similar replacement

Send the old and new TV model numbers, a photograph of the existing bracket and the soundbar model. Matching screen sizes do not establish mount compatibility: the weight, VESA spacing, rear shape and attachment hardware still need checking. The soundbar accessory must also suit the complete assembly.
