TV Installation Pros
Fireplace & Pull-Down TV Mounting
TV mounting above fireplaces in Monterey Bay and San Jose, including pull-down brackets, large screens, soundbars and cable planning.
A fireplace installation starts with the whole wall
We mount televisions above fireplaces in Monterey Bay, San Jose and surrounding communities. Our portfolio includes large screens, tile and stone surfaces, and a 77″ LG installed on a pull-down mount in San Jose.
The right plan takes account of the television, the supporting construction, the fireplace and the place where you watch. A photograph of the finished surface is useful, but the structure behind it also determines the attachment method.
Fixed, tilting or pull-down?
| Mount type | What it changes | What to plan |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed / low-profile | Keeps the TV in one position close to the wall. | Viewing height, access to connections and the final gap. |
| Tilting | Changes the viewing angle. | Room reflections and the height of the screen’s center. |
| Pull-down | Lowers the screen from its resting position. | TV and soundbar load, mantel clearance and the complete movement path. |
Tile, stone and concealed support
Our completed projects include a tiled fireplace in Marina and stone in Carmel. Each surface calls for a plan based on the actual wall and bracket. Send a wide photograph and a close view of the finish; include any construction details you have.
For background, read about brick-wall mounting and drywall and structural support. These explain why a surface finish alone does not specify the attachment.
Bring the soundbar and cables into the plan
A soundbar adds space below the TV and may move with a compatible mounting arrangement. The cable route must accommodate the screen’s intended positions. Include both in the request, particularly for a pull-down bracket.
Fireplace heat and the equipment manufacturers’ clearances need checking separately from viewing height. For model-specific pull-down requirements, consult the bracket manual; MantelMount’s installation information is one manufacturer reference. The guide where not to mount a TV can help you compare another wall when the fireplace location is unsuitable.
Details for your fireplace mounting quote
Send the TV and bracket model numbers, mantel height and depth, wall photographs, and any soundbar or cable work. Also tell us if an existing TV or bracket needs removal. Those details distinguish a straightforward replacement from a new pull-down or large-screen installation.

Fireplace mounting questions
Does a tilting mount lower the television?
It changes the screen’s angle. A pull-down bracket changes its vertical position; the available travel depends on the model and setup.
Can you reuse an existing fireplace mount?
Send the existing bracket and replacement TV models. Compatibility, condition, wall attachment and the requested movement all need checking.
Can the soundbar move with the TV?
A compatible accessory may allow this. The soundbar, accessory, TV and bracket must be assessed together, including clearances and load.
Can cables be hidden in the fireplace wall?
We need to assess the construction and route. An in-wall path is not available in every fireplace surround; an external cover may be an alternative.
